Forgotten Realms Weave

To allow builders to create coordinated campaigns set in the Forgotten Realms while retaining a high level of autonomy for their individual projects.

• The focus of the project will be on single-player and non-persistent multiplayer

• Each builder will retain control over their own stories, characters, and level designs; but they will also agree to coordinate such things as background campaign information and follow general guidelines so as to give players a consistent experience.

• Campaign background for all modules in the project will be communicated via a general wiki or other format if deemed appropriate. This document or wiki will assume any details published in official FR publications as background (including the NWN2 official campaigns) and then build from there.

• Guidelines will be established to ensure a consistent player experience between modules. These guidelines will range from suggestions to requirements. Some examples of guidelines would be rate of leveling, treasure levels, and use of custom rule systems. Guidelines will only be made requirements in cases where module continuity would be severely broken, player confusion would result, or issues with balancing would result. In addition, guidelines for how module information is communicated will also be established.

• Other Resources that builders feel are important will be provided. These might include private forums for discussing individual projects, pre-fabs of various types that can be dropped into campaigns, or anything else that builders might require.

• More tightly coordinated series of modules might be a possibility at some point in the future. These might have a common theme, geographical location, premise, or even story that ties them together. This will not be the initial focus of the project, though.

We are currently working on a process on how to join the project and will update this section when it is figured out. For now please post a request to the forums to join and register at the wiki. Though registration will not enable you to edit pages it is a starting point and once the request is received on the forums your user profile will be updated to allow editing privileges.
